Average Size:  7-24 inches 

 

Life Span:  5-15 years

 

Habitat: Desert Habitat

 

Requirements:

 

Enclosure:  Aquarium or Mesh Cage is suggested. Bearded Dragons like well ventilated areas.

 

Substrate:  Sand is recommended. You could also use Indoor/Outdoor Carpeting that is flat surfaced not raised.

 

Lighting/Heating:  UVA and UVB Bulbs should be provided for at least 10 hours a day. Under tank heaters can also be used at night in a safe area of the enclosure. Bearded Dragons need at least 90 F-100 F temperatures to digest their food properly.

 

Temperature:  Daytime temperature 80 F - 85 F

                        Basking temperature 95 F – 105 F

                        Night temperature 69 F – 75 F

 

Cleaning: Water and 5% bleach should be used to clean the environment. Make sure you always rinse thoughly. They must have water available and changed everyday.

 

Environment: Branches and Rocks without sharp edges would be a good idea so they are able to bask. A large water dish must be provided so they are able to bath. If the water is deep put a rock or branch so they are able to get out of the water safely.

 

Vitamins:  It is a good idea to buy Vitamin D3 to sprinkle on their food once of twice a week.

 

Diet:  Bearded Dragons are Omnivores. They can eat Crickets, Wax worms, Meal worms, Earthworms, Cockroaches, Jumbo Worms and occasionally a pinky. Bearded Dragons will also enjoy Fruits and Vegetables such as Escarole, Romaine lettuce, Mustard and Collard greens, Kale, Turnip greens, Squash, Green beans, Watercress, Peas, Sweet potato, Strawberries, Cantaloupe, Blueberries, Kiwi, Raspberries, Mango and Grapes.
